HostGatorNewfold

Another Newfold brand, same playbook

HostGator is owned by Newfold Digital — same parent as Bluehost, HostGator, iPage, Domain.com, and more.See ownership map →
[01] Verdict

HostGator is another Newfold Digital brand — sibling to Bluehost, iPage, Domain.com, FatCow, and Network Solutions. Same parent, same renewal pattern, same offshore support pool.

The Hatchling plan starts around $3.75/month on a 36-month term and renews near $11.99/month. Uptime is acceptable, performance is unremarkable, and the cPanel install is stock with the usual upsell layer bolted on.

Once a respected independent host, HostGator has been a cost-cutting target since the 2012 EIG acquisition and the 2021 Newfold merger. There is no technical reason to choose it over Hostinger or DreamHost at this point.

"I've been with Host Gator for years without issue. Support is good etc. However you will get suspended for excessive usage on those shared 'unlimited' plans."
